New Scandal Erupts over NOAA Climate Data
It appears that the NOAA is embarassed over the possible lack of quality or maybe a better term would be “accuracy”
Apparently the NOAA gets the bulk of its weather / climate data from volunteer locations, many of which dont measure up to the high standards required, this becomes significant in the fact that the US bases many decisions of policy and funding on these datasets.
After an outside source brought this allegation to the attention of the powers that be, the NOAA removed the locations of its data gathering stations from the web, but later posted them back after criticism.
